Blockchain startup Alphea launches AI-focused Layer 1 network in Hong Kong

Alphea, a blockchain infrastructure company, launched its Layer 1 network designed specifically for autonomous AI agents at the Hong Kong Web3 Festival 2026 on April 29, positioning itself as the first decentralized execution environment built from scratch for machine-to-machine operations.
The platform addresses a critical infrastructure challenge in the AI industry: while artificial intelligence can generate sophisticated outputs, current systems still require human intervention for deployment, operation, and maintenance. Alphea's network enables AI agents to execute tasks, manage services, and operate independently without human oversight.
Chief Publishing Officer Dee Lee, who heads the company's UAE office, presented the platform's architecture during the festival's main stage presentation. The network integrates execution capabilities, persistent memory storage, and verifiable computing as core features rather than supplementary applications.
"Current AI systems can create almost any content, but they still depend on humans to deploy and maintain their operations," explained Henry Park, Alphea's founder and CEO. "We're constructing an infrastructure layer where AI agents can function autonomously without constant human supervision."
Technical architecture enables autonomous operation
The platform introduces Delta, a proprietary packaging format that converts AI-generated outputs into executable units. These packages contain all necessary context and permissions for autonomous deployment, eliminating manual configuration requirements typically associated with AI system deployment.
Alphea's storage system dynamically manages data proximity, keeping frequently accessed information near execution points while archiving inactive data to more permanent storage tiers. Each completed task generates a proof of execution, documenting not only completion status but also methodology and resource consumption metrics.
The network's economic structure directly correlates token usage with infrastructure consumption. AI agents pay proportionally for computational power, storage capacity, and bandwidth usage, creating a resource marketplace rather than a speculative trading environment.
Infrastructure gap drives development focus
The company identifies a fundamental mismatch between AI capabilities and supporting infrastructure. While AI models demonstrate increasing sophistication in content generation and problem-solving, the underlying systems for cloud computing, storage, billing, and coordination remain oriented toward human users and centralized control structures.
Autonomous agents require continuous, stateful operation capabilities that current infrastructure cannot provide efficiently. Alphea's architecture reimagines these fundamental components specifically for machine-operated environments.
Leadership team brings operational expertise
The founding team combines experience from large-scale consumer platforms and blockchain infrastructure projects. CEO Henry Park previously led Gala Lab, managing gaming operations across multiple international markets. Strategy and partnerships head David Bae oversees capital strategy alongside Kevin Oh, who focuses on long-term sustainability planning.
Technology development falls under James Lee's direction, while Dee Lee manages product strategy in addition to her publishing responsibilities. The team's collective background spans traditional gaming, live service operations, and Web3 infrastructure development.
"The challenges we're addressing require operational expertise, not just theoretical knowledge," noted David Bae. "Our team's experience running global-scale systems provides the practical foundation this new infrastructure category demands."
Platform availability and development roadmap
Following the Hong Kong debut, Alphea plans to release comprehensive technical documentation and detailed development milestones in upcoming months. The company has opened registration for developers and potential partners interested in early-stage collaboration through its official website.
The launch represents the project's first public appearance after an extended development period. The team emphasized their focus on building functional infrastructure rather than pursuing quick market entry, reflecting their operational approach to solving AI infrastructure challenges.
Interested parties can access additional information and partnership opportunities through Alphea's official website or contact Albert Choi at [email protected] for media inquiries.
