TON Tech Unveils Autonomous AI Wallets for Telegram’s Blockchain Network

TON Tech has launched Agentic Wallets, an open-source wallet standard enabling artificial intelligence agents to independently manage cryptocurrency transactions on the TON blockchain, marking a significant advancement in autonomous financial operations for Telegram's billion-user ecosystem.
The infrastructure division of The Open Platform (TOP) unveiled the non-custodial wallet technology that allows AI agents to hold and spend digital assets without human intervention, according to a press release obtained by The Defiant.
The new wallet system operates through a straightforward framework where users allocate funds to individual agent-specific wallets, establish spending limits, and maintain complete control with the ability to terminate access instantly. These AI agents then execute transactions autonomously within predetermined boundaries, eliminating the need for intermediaries in the process.
This development comes as Telegram designated TON as the sole blockchain infrastructure for its mini-app platform last year, granting the blockchain exclusive access to Telegram's massive user base that now surpasses one billion people worldwide.
TOP has established itself as a critical infrastructure provider within Telegram's expanding blockchain ecosystem. The company achieved a $1 billion valuation following a $28.5 million funding round led by Ribbit Capital and serves as the developer of Telegram's Crypto Wallet, the official custodial wallet integrated directly into the messaging platform. The wallet recently expanded its capabilities to include perpetual futures trading for over 50 different assets through a partnership with Lighter.
The Agentic Wallets technology opens numerous possibilities for developers looking to create automated financial services. The system supports trading bots operating within defined budgets, decentralized finance agents that can automate staking operations and portfolio management, and automated subscription payment processing.
Andrew Grekov, Head of TON Tech, emphasized the transformative nature of this technology, stating that Agentic Wallets elevate AI agents from mere assistants to active participants in the financial ecosystem. He explained that agents operating on Telegram now possess the capability to conduct transactions, process payments, and interact with blockchain-based services on users' behalf while maintaining complete security by never accessing private keys.
The introduction of Agentic Wallets positions TON Tech at the forefront of a broader industry movement to establish financial infrastructure for autonomous agents. This trend is gaining momentum across multiple blockchain networks, with Biconomy and the Ethereum Foundation recently unveiling ERC-8211, an execution standard enabling on-chain AI agents to perform sophisticated, multi-step decentralized finance strategies without requiring every parameter to be pre-encoded during the signing process.
The convergence of AI and blockchain technology through initiatives like Agentic Wallets represents a significant evolution in how digital financial services can be delivered. By enabling AI agents to manage funds autonomously while maintaining user control and security, TON Tech is positioning itself to capture a substantial portion of the growing demand for automated financial services within Telegram's extensive user network.
As the blockchain industry continues to develop infrastructure for AI-powered financial operations, TON Tech's early move into this space through its partnership with Telegram could provide a competitive advantage in reaching mainstream users who may benefit from automated financial management without requiring deep technical knowledge of blockchain technology.
